Environmental choices at Leeds 2022

​

As a conference committee we wanted to explain some of our choices in putting this conference together.

We wanted to support people to attend our conference while also considering the environment – hence the decision to go with a hybrid conference. However, we are doing ‘hybrid light’ (without a sophisticated conference web platform) both to keep down costs and to make it manageable for us while we learn how to do hybrid conferences.

We are also not going to print out the conference abstract booklet – we will put a PDF on the conference website and you will be able to download it if you want to. We will only print a one-sheet handout that has a running order for the day (which presentations in which rooms at what times).

We are using recycled name badges and lanyards from the SPR UK Oxford conference; sorry we have decided not to have any other ‘merch’ (no canvas bags, pens or water bottles). So you might want to bring also your own notebook and pen and perhaps a canvas bag from another SPR conference!
