Leeds

Leeds Art Gallery – is a free attraction found in the heart of the city. The gallery houses works by Francis Bacon, Barbara Hepworth, Damien Hirst and Henry Moore: Leeds Art Gallery - Visit Leeds. The Tetley in Leeds city centre is housed in a former brewery and showcases work by emerging artists: Visit – The Tetley. Walk up Briggate, between Boar Lane and The Headrow, and explore the lanes and arcades, and you’ll find a range of traditional pubs (cheap!) and little independent shops & cafes.

 

Head to http://www.grandarcadeleeds.co.uk/ and you’ll find a range of bars, cafes, restaurants and almost all are independent venues.

 

The main LGBT scene is on Lower Briggate, with a few options of pubs and bars. Though a new pub has opened on Briggate called ‘The Pack Horse’ .

Salts Mill, Saltaire, West Yorkshire houses an art gallery, restaurants and shopping centre in an impressive former textile mill building: Salts Mill

 

The inspiring Yorkshire Sculpture Park, about 20 miles south of Leeds, is a rural park which hosts regular exhibitions and contains sculptures by the famous Henry Moore - and currently Damien Hirst, amongst others: Home | Yorkshire Sculpture Park (ysp.org.uk)
